We do believe in democracy.
But this doesn't mean that we can't feel ashamed after the latest Italian elections, that took place on April 13th/14th, 2008. We feel ashamed because after those elections, which saw Silvio Berlusconi's People of Freedom getting a large majority of votes, some voices has raised from beyond the Alps.
Those voices were wondering why: why Italians have chosen, for the third time, a man that represents the worst in politics, that has several criminal charges pending (including mafia collusion, corruption, tax fraud and so on) and that has teamed up with the xenophobes of the Northern League and the National Alliance.
And most of all, a man that besides claiming to be the solution to all problems of Italy, both in 1994 and in 2001, has actually done nothing. Twice.
Are Italians all blind? Has the cultural lobotomy that is spread day-by-day from Berlusconi's TV networks reduced every single Italian to mental slavery?
This site is the answer. An answer to all the people of the world who care about a country that could be one of European Union's leading members, but has been stuck for decades because of backward politics and politicians. We are here to witness that many, many Italians share the same will: letting the rest of the world know that we have different values, and we feel the same indignation.
We may get the attention of few, but our message won't loose its strength: we didn't vote for Berlusconi, with all this means.
